Disasters – both manmade and natural – can have a disabling impact on our way of life. From the Pearl Harbor bombing to the series of hurricanes that we have experienced in recent times, each disaster has taught us a new lesson in preparedness. Many governments and agencies – including the American Red Cross are working proactively to ensure that we are ready for disasters, and that recovery efforts are streamlined. These efforts may include using technology to ensure connectivity and robots to assess the situation on the ground.
